Miss Direction

This game is for the GMTK Game Jam 2023 theme of "role reversal". 

You play as a trickster goddess who loves to use her gravity magic to meddle with the fate of mortals. Put spells together and clear your board by controlling the direction in which runes fall and try to get a high score!

Use the arrow keys to change the direction pieces fall. 

Pieces that collide into a wall or another piece become stuck in place.

Use your gravity powers to get rid of unwanted pieces or even clear lines in different directions!

My first ever game jam submission! I started late and lost a bunch of work to a crash at 4am the morning of submission but I'll definitely be updating this after the jam with the care it deserves! Working in PICO-8 was both a blessing and a curse. While it provided a great way to quickly prototype something, I hadn't come up with a proper workflow yet! A lot of time was lost to painful debugging using only the basics I knew. Definitely not an issue when working outside the time constraints of a game jam :)
